Outage mode
The grid is down. Your home is running on its battery.

To stretch it
- Set the thermostat to 80°F or turn the AC off.
- Skip the oven, dryer, and pool pump.
- Keep the fridge closed.
Running power for each appliance is an assumption.
How it works
- Your battery charges when power is cheap, usually at night.
- It powers your home when power is expensive, and can help the grid when demand spikes.
- It always keeps a backup reserve for outages.
What's real and what's assumed
- Real: hourly ERCOT day-ahead prices for Houston Hub, cached with source and download time.
- Real: battery size, 39.2 kWh, the smaller Base Core (pv magazine USA).
- Assumed: 5 kW charge rate, 88% round trip, half the battery kept as backup, the shape of a day's home use, and appliance power.
- Simulated: what the battery did. This is not Base's real control logic, fleet behavior, or revenue.
