megawatt.fun is an independent energy tooling suite built in public by Adam Pangelinan. Its calculations, source material, code, and known limitations are published for inspection.
Purpose
Useful models with the caveats attached
megawatt.fun turns public energy data into small, inspectable tools and studies. The current suite includes a tested Go battery-dispatch planner, a live view of ERCOT settlement prices, a transparent Kardashev-scale calculator, and a sourced study of energy companies.
The dispatch model intentionally covers one daily cycle, energy-only arbitrage, and perfect day-ahead price knowledge. The homepage and public README explain what the model omits, including ancillary services, real-time forecasting, degradation, retail-plan interactions, and resilience value.
